Actions speak louder than words for any entrepreneur, and for industry innovator Glenn Stearns his business plan prioritizes actively "paying-it-forward." As a result, the next-generation of company builders and start-up incubators frequently call upon Glenn for feedback and coaching.
For the past three years, Glenn has served as a judge and event host for the prestigious California Dreamin' Investor and Fast Pitch Competitions. Winners have the potential of receiving up to one-million dollars in equity financing. The California Dreamin' competition at Chapman University is an invitation only event to win prize money and connections to venture capital firms. Students from more than 28 schools, with top university entrepreneur programs, have competed for the "Best Business Plan" awards.
“California Dreamin’ has become the premier university pitch competition including all of the top business schools in the West,” says Richard Sudek, Ph.D., Director of the Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics at Chapman University. “This competition is designed to connect student to investors; the 2012 winner received equity financing within 60 days of the competition from one of our judges.”
